about us
Lumé is a boutique, artisinal wine making company producing and specialising in rose from the Wairau Valley in the heart of the world famous Marlborough region. Lumé was founded in 2020, and lovingly creates easy-drinking rosé for those with a refined palette. Any business is only as good as the people. At Lumé we are committed and dedicated to growing the best premium, hand crafted rosé.
Our Pinot Noir is locally sourced from the Marlborugh region using the finest grapes, picked at perfection. Our home vineyard, owned by our parent company Ra Nui, is situated on Cob Cottage Road in Blenheim. Bookings can be made via appointment for a tasting at this location.

Lumé Rosé has been crafted for every-day easy drinking, made to be enjoyed in the New Zealand sunshine with family and friends. Lumé is produced utilising a provençal method of production and has been refined to perfection. Lumé is deliciously dry, with an exceptionally light pigment, and a light pink hue.
Winemaking
Lumé's very first vintage was in 2020 - our rosé is made with care and skill by Digger Hennessy and Hugh Girling, who have been making fine wine in Marlborough for over 25 years. The grapes were harvested in late March, then upon arrival at the winery, the grapes were de-stemmed and crushed immediately, followed by 4 hours of skin contact. The juice was then pressed off and slowly fermented dry.
Cellaring
Best enjoyed within 2-3 years.

Best paired with antipasto platters, cured meats, cheeses - a perfect wine with virtually any food!
